If you feed your baby breast milk, you’ve probably heard about Nanobebe bottles. They were created for moms who breastfeed and took home the “Best for Babies” Award in Parents Magazine in 2020.
That said, I have to admit, I was a little weary when I first opened a tab to look at a Nanobebe set. It looked like a lot.
However, while there are a lot of pieces to the initial startup set, in this case, I soon learned that more is really more—and this set has it all. Let’s dig in to Nanobebe bottles and get a closer look at what they offer.
Nanobebe Bottles: Close to the Breast
To use the Nanobebe bottle, first make sure it is washed and sterilized (one way to do this is to boil for 5 minutes).
If you’d like to use it with your breast pump—fun fact: it can attach right to a breast pump!—you simply add the adapter to your breast pump machine. You’ll want to be sure to check your machine type as standard adapters fit Medela and Ameda, but you will need the Breast Pump Adapter Set for Spectra and other wide-neck pumps).
Once you’ve got the adapter on tight, you can begin to pump directly into the bottle, which is shaped to eliminate spills. Because no one wants to lose a 30-minute pumping session to a tip over, am I right?
When you’ve filled the bottle, attach a nipple to feed your baby right away, or put the storage lid on and store your milk for later. You can even stash a Nanobebe directly in the freezer with the included storage cap and thaw right in the bottle too.
How We Rated the Nanobebe Bottle
Like everything in parenting, bottles are highly individualized, so the bottle that meets your needs may not be the same one for another family. In general, however, Truly Mama rates our bottles on:
- Function
- Budget
- Ease of cleaning
- Portability
- Comfort for you and baby
When it comes to breastfeeding moms and babies, the Nanobebe bottle hits good marks for function, budget, easy cleaning, portability, and comfort: we rate it a 4/5.
The one big downside we found is that they can be prone to leaks. If you’re a formula-based mom, all of the aspects that come with these bottles will be less useful and we’d give it a 3/5.
Pros & Cons
Pros

Nanobebe Bottle Features
The Nanobebe bottle definitely looks different than any other type of bottle you have probably been, but here are the specific features you should know about:
Two sizes
The Nanobebe bottles come in 5 ounce and 8-ounce sizes—the smaller size is perfect for infants, and then they can graduate to the 8 ounce later on.
Five nipple flows
Each bottle comes with a slow flow nipple, but as your child develops, you can move on to the next flow.
There are 4 nipple flows available: slow, medium, fast, and very fast. They also now offer a special slow nipple for preemies and newborns.
Won’t break the bank
In comparison to other brands, Nanobebe bottles are decently priced, especially considering that they look nice and are made of quality (non-toxic) materials.
Clean-up is no hassle
No bottle brush or extra cleaning accessories needed here. Nanobebe suggests cleaning or sterilizing after each use.
First, remove the silicone ring, then press down on the bottom to release the top part of the bottle. You can use a dishwasher, handwash, or a sterilizer that stands alone or can be used in the microwave.
Warming up your bottle
The material of the Nanobebe bottles, along with a concave bottom part both help to heat up milk super quickly and evenly. Plus, the bottle warmer has a matching part that fits into the bottle to heat it up quickly.
To use your warmer, add warm water from your sink (it’s non-electric). The circulating warm water gets your breastmilk to the perfect temperature.
What Nanobebe Bottle Reviews Say
There’s no doubt about it: many breastfeeding moms like these bottles. “Absolutely a lifesaver,” one mom raved in her Nanobebe bottle review. “I had tried so many bottles, I believe we went through 7 different types before we could find a bottle my son would take while he was nursing.”
Many moms said the breast-like shape was a real winner for their baby. One reviewer mentioned that the bottle allowed her baby to “transition easily from breast to bottle and back again.”
Ultimately, a baby-friendly design is a game-changer. Because when baby is happy, mama is happy.
As far as reviewer downsides, a few reviewers found that putting the bottle together was difficult and led to spills: it’s a snap-on bottom rather than a screw on. One mom said it was too hit and miss; she sometimes lost her precious breast milk in the process of trying to snap it back on.
“Ultimately, a baby-friendly design is a game-changer. Because when baby is happy, mama is happy.”
Before You Buy
I’d recommend the Nanobebe bottles for a mom who is breastfeeding and wants their baby to transition easily from bottle to breast and back again. That said, the bottom of the bottle is prone to leaks and popping off, which can be a real headache if you’ve spent time pumping breastmilk, only to lose it.
Additionally, one mom who tried to use the Nanobebe found that transporting the bottle was too difficult. Because of the bottle’s unique design, it doesn’t fit in a traditional diaper bag pocket, especially if you want to pre-make a bottle to take on-the-go with you. You’ll most likely find it easier to purchase a Nanobebe-bottle specific bottle and diaper bag. But in the reverse problem, if you decide to no longer use the Nanobebe bottles, traditional bottles won’t fit in your Nanobebe diaper bag.
All that to say, you’ll want to be sure this is the right bottle for you before you invest in converting over to the Nanobebe way. But because the breast-like design is loved by babies, it’s worth trying this bottle out to see if it works out for you and your baby.
Final Verdict
We like this bottle and think it’s worth a try if you can put up with the small flaws in design.
