How about this for an amazing mom story! CNN recently released an incredible story in which a woman traveling through India by foot stopped to give birth, the continued on her journey with her newborn for another 160 kilometers.
CNN reported that the woman was walking with her husband and their four other children from the city of Nashik, in Maharashtra, to the town of Satna in the adjoining state of Madhya Pradesh. The newborn was born on May 5, four days before the family reached a checkpoint in Madhya Pradesh.
Kavita Kanesh, an official at the checkpoint in Madhya Pradesh, talked to CNN about the incredible story.
“She just rested for about one and a half to two hours after she delivered,” Kanesh said. “The family had no money, no means of transport, no one was giving them a lift.”
Kanesh explained that due to India’s coronavirus lockdown, the family was left without a way to earn money, and no place to live.
Once the family arrived at the checkpoint, Kanesh arranged for the woman to receive medical treatment at a quarantine facility.
