Last week, rapper Offset caught the attention of parents everywhere when he shared that he and Cardi B bought their two-year-old daughter Kulture an $8,000 carseat.
Seeing as most carseats cost less than $350, the price tag gave many parents sticker shock, and Offset was pretty realistic about how much his daughter would care about her new expensive seat.
“8 thousand dollar car seat and i bet it has peanut butter and jelly on it in 1 week 😂,” he captioned a photo on Instagram. Now, a Rolls Royce car seat is pretty extreme, but this isn’t the first time that celebrities have spent a wild amount on their offspring. Here are 5 baby buys that would send normal budgets spinning.
When Kulture Got A $9,000 Purse
A good purse or handbag is essential to making sure that you have everything you need when you’re on the go. If you’re a mom, that is. The toddler crew has less need for handbags, but that didn’t stop Offset from buying Kulture a Birkin Bag with an estimated $9,000 price tag for her second birthday.
Some fans were outraged, but Cardi B said in a now-deleted Instagram story that having top fashion accessories is part of the family’s image.
“And if I’m fly and Daddy’s fly, then so is the kid. If I’m wearing Cha-nay-nay, my kid’s having the same same,” she added. “It’s not up to what the kids like. If it was the kids, they would be outside in diapers. No. ‘Cause if I was looking like a bad bitch, expensive bitch, and I have my kid looking like a bum bum, then y’all would be talking shit. So I’m not mad that Daddy bought baby a Birkin. She gonna match Mommy.”
Kulture has also been gifted a $100,000 necklace and a Versace snowsuit, but Cardi B told PEOPLE that doesn’t keep her daughter from acting like, well, a two-year-old.
“She has so much name brands, and she just throws up in all of them. She always ends up [wearing] Target pajamas,” Cardi B said.
When Stormi Got A $200,000 Pony
Wait just a minute before you decide that Kulture is the most spoiled tot in America. Earlier this summer, during a global pandemic, make up tycoon Kylie Jenner not only bought her two-year-old daughter Stormi a $200,000 pony, but also paid roughly $7,000 – $10,000 to have the animal shipped from the Netherlands to L.A.
The pony’s breeder posted a picture of him on Instagram with the caption, “We got news he has landed in L.A. and living the life with a sweet little girl. Her parents made sure their daughter had the most precious pony out there.”
Hopefully Stormi stays interested in pony rides for a long time!
When North Got Her Own Expensive Horse
Stormi isn’t the only Kardashian kid to be enjoying the company of an expensive equine. In June, Kim Kardasian posted a picture of her daughter North with a long-haired black horse at the family’s ranch in Wyoming.
“Meet North’s Freesian horse. We have 14 gorgeous Freesians on the ranch,” Kardashian wrote.

Purebred Freesian horses cost between $20,000 and $50,000, so it’s clear Kardashian and her husband Kanye West are spending a hefty amount on horses.
When Monroe and Moroccan Came Home To $100,000 Nurseries
Monroe and Moroccan — the twin children of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon — came into the world in fashion, laying their heads down in $30,000 cribs. Overall, their nursery decor cost about $100,000 — and that was a decade ago!
The twins had two nurseries — one in California and one in New York City — further adding to the price tag.
“It’s going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded,” Carey said at the time.
When Blue Ivy Got A $600,000 Rocking Horse
Beyonce and Jay-Z are one of the great power couples, so it’s no wonder that their kids — especially first-born Blue Ivy — have been the recipients of generous gifts. When Blue Ivy was born in 2012, there were reports that Jay-Z bought her a solid gold rocking horse with a $600,000 price tag.
Having a baby is a pricy endeavor and can tax your budget, so sometimes it’s just good to laugh at the outrageous spending of celebrity parents.
