In true hysterical Amy Schumer fashion, she revealed on the latest episode of her podcast “3 Girls, 1 Keith”.
that she and her husband Chris Fischer officially changed their son’s name after realizing that it sounded like “genital.”
“Do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name is officially changed?” the 38-year-old explained. “It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer, but we realized that we by accident named our son genital.”
Schumer’s friend and “Trainwreck” co-star Claudia O’Doherty joined her on the episode, and said that her mom originally pointed it out to her. “My mom was like, ‘Amy’s called her son genital’” O’Doherty said.
Their son’s middle name was originally a tribute to the couple’s friend, comedian Dave Attell.
Schumer explained that the name change isn’t so bad after all, as she gets to kill two birds with one stone. “His middle name is now David, which is also after Attell and my dad’s middle name is David,” she stated.
