When you think about holiday traditions, you probably include waking up at dawn the day after Thanksgiving for a deal-laden shopping spree at all the major retailers. Black Friday has long been the day parents could count on to get the best deals for their children’s holiday presents, not to mention the best day to buy electronics on the cheap.
But as with so many things in 2020, the pandemic has threatened to change Black Friday shopping as we know it. A growing list of stores has already announced their doors will be shut on Thanksgiving Day, with many still holding off on the release of Black Friday shopping hours.
That doesn’t mean deals can’t be found. Most major retailers have already rolled out their Black Friday deals, giving consumers extra time to cash in. Plenty are combining Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals (with Walmart even celebrating “Cyber Week”). These changes will allow consumers to find the best price regardless of whether they’re shopping in-person or at home in their COVID-free bubble. It also gives retailers the opportunity to make the most of this COVID holiday season.
